If you want to transfer a domain from one registrar company to another, you will need to pass through a couple of security steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authentication code from the current domain registrar – provided that you are the registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email address and nobody else can see it. You’ll need to give this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they won’t be able to begin the domain name transfer process. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy & paste the right code. As an extra safety measure, the transfer code for a domain may be reset on a regular basis. Some registrars call this code a domain password, a domain secret or an Auth key as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
Obtaining the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain name registered through our company under a hosting account is amazingly easy. You will not need to log in and out of different user interfaces, as you can manage both your domain names and your hosting account from one single place – our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel. To obtain the transfer code for any domain, you just need to visit the Registered Domains section and to click on the mini EPP logo, which will be situated to the right of any domain name whose extension supports transfers with a code. Our system will send the code to the domain name owner’s email address instantaneously. If you’d like to change the email, you can do it from the same section of the hosting Control Panel with just a couple of clicks.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain name that you wish to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code remarkably easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your domains and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find an EPP icon next to your domains, provided that their extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to make sure that only the owner of the domain name can obtain this info. If the currently entered address is no longer valid, you can change it with a couple of mouse clicks without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the respective domain name straight away.
