A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be rectified by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a lot of features, but it’s exceptionally simple to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires only a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be listed in this section alphabetically and you’ll only have to click on the "Catch-all" button for the respective email address. Our system will inform you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be enabled with ease if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll find a mini symbol conveniently located directly next to each one of them. With only one single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this option using the context menu that will appear. In case any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
